Hosokawa's live Containment Solutions Demonstrations receives over 70 guests in two days!
On March 6 and 7, 2012, Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems host their live Containment Solutions Event at the Summit, New Jersey facility. This free event was attended by 73 guests from as far as California and Peru from Pharmaceutical developers to graduate students. The demonstrations were specifically designed to demonstrate the containment solutions Hosokawa offers for operator protection when dealing with hazardous materials.
Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems recently hosted an In-House Laboratory Equipment Demonstration for prospective customers at their Summit, New Jersey production and testing facility. The program was designed to demonstration the capabilities of the Universal Mikro Pulverizer, Micron Air Jet Sieve and the New Powder Characteristics Tester.

Germany - After 14 months of construction, Hosokawa Bepex GmbH celebrated the inauguration of its new Technology. Ter Braak, Bepex-Hutt and Kreuter customers will be able to test the extensive range of equipment of these brands under one roof in modern facilities. With a 4.5 Million Euro investment, the ground stone for a long-term future perspective of Hosokawa Bepex is laid with this new building.
In the new Technology Center, the development of customer-oriented products can be realized under real production conditions. Furthermore, Hosokawa Bepex offers process technology solutions for the optimization of existing processes to its customers. The long lasting knowledge of the Ter Braak, Bepex-Hutt and Kreuter brands makes Hosokawa a strong, competent and reliable partner for machines and production systems in the confectionery and bakery industry. Hosokawa Bepex designs and supplies technologies from raw material handling to the final product for a variety of confectionery and bakery products including candies, bars, pralines and cookies according to the particular requirements and quality standards. Besides test and demonstration facilities a level dedicated to factory acceptance tests of lines with the customer’s final product was created on a total of 2,500 square meters.
The Hosokawa Bepex GmbH has a 60 year history. In 1949, Emil Hutt and Mr. Hoppe Sen founded the Hutt Company in Schluchtern. The manufacturing program comprised machines for the confectionery industry. In 1954, the Hutt Company managed to enter the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. By 1968, the company was acquired by the Berwind Corp. in the USA and later renamed Bepex GmbH (Berwind Processing Equipment Corporation). In 1971, the company was moved to a new site at Daimlerstraße 8 in Leingarten.
In 1992, The Hosokawa Micron Group acquired Ter Braak and Kreuter and the Hosokawa Confectionery & Bakery group was formed. Today approximately 190 associates are employed at the locations in Leingarten and Hamburg.
Traditional tray freeze drying methods require a lot of time and energy and only produce ‘baked’ cakes that need milling and classification. The process is subject to contamination by handling throughout these stages. Active Freeze Drying (AFD) technology, introduced by Hosokawa, is able to eliminate all these disadvantages!
Hosokawa Micron’s last in-house event five years ago was a great success, but the Powder Processing Experience in November managed to top all expectations. More than 300 people joined them at their premises in Doetinchem, The Netherlands for this one-day seminar and in-house exhibition. With four one-day events in total, participants were given a choice of two themes: the food or the chemical industry, and two languages: English and German. The response was considerable.
Over 100 industry professionals attended the three-day Carbon Black World Conference in Rome this week. This conference is one of only two annual technical exhibitions focused on the expanding carbon black market. Attendees traveled from around the world to discuss and learn about market trends, new equipment and future technologies available in the production and refinement of Carbon Black.
